We’ll be honest with you up front: our offices aren’t inside West Palm Beach city limits. They’re a short drive away, in Wellington and Boynton Beach, and we have patients from all over Palm Beach County, from Jupiter to Boca Raton and everywhere in between. Whether you’re after a second opinion or a first look, you can decide after that first visit whether we’re worth the drive.

Why West Palm Beach Families Choose Petrover Orthodontics

Who is Dr. Petrover?

Dr. Jonathan Petrover has specialized in orthodontics for more than 20 years. He’s a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, and he attends 12 to 18 continuing education courses a year. In that time he’s treated thousands of patients across Palm Beach County. He treats every patient personally.

Our Wellington patients alone have left more than 290 Google reviews, averaging 4.9 stars (September 2026), and the themes that come up most include the welcoming staff, how comfortable the office feels and thorough explanations. You can read what our patients say in their own words.

Your first visit is a free comprehensive consultation

The consultation is a $249 value and we don’t charge for it. It includes an initial exam, digital x-rays and a full discussion of your options with Dr. Petrover. By the end of it you’ll know whether you or your child needs treatment, which options would work, roughly how long it would take, and what the fee would be. You’re not committing to anything by coming in.

Getting to Us

Both offices are an easy drive from most of West Palm Beach, so you can pick whichever suits your week.

From central and western West Palm Beach, our Wellington office at 2465 S State Road 7 is usually the quicker trip: head west on Okeechobee or Southern Boulevard, then south on State Road 7. From southern West Palm Beach, our Boynton Beach office off South Military Trail is often easier, straight down I-95 or Military Trail.

It’s worth thinking about the drive before you choose any orthodontist. Treatment means coming back every few weeks for a year or two, so a trip that’s fine once becomes a real consideration by the tenth visit. And if a bracket breaks between visits, call us, and we’ll get you in the same day whenever possible.

Orthodontic Treatment for Kids, Teens and Adults

Treatments we offer

Option Who tends to choose it
Metal braces Kids and teens, and anyone who wants the most straightforward option. They handle complex cases well.
Ceramic braces Teens and adults who want something less noticeable but still fixed in place.
Invisalign and clear aligners Adults and older teens who want something removable and nearly invisible, and who’ll wear their aligners as instructed.
Retainers Everyone, after treatment. Also for patients whose teeth have shifted since an earlier round.

Alongside traditional braces we also fit In-Ovation self-ligating braces, which hold the wire with a built-in clip instead of elastic ties, so adjustment appointments can run a little quicker. And instead of the goopy impression trays you might remember, we take digital impressions with a scanner. It takes a few minutes and there’s nothing to gag on.

When should a child first be seen?

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic check-up by age seven. Most seven-year-olds don’t need treatment yet, and we simply keep an eye on things. If you’re looking for braces for kids and teens, our kids and teens page covers what to expect.

Is it too late for adults?

Adults are welcome too: healthy teeth can be moved at any age, though adult treatment can need more planning or take longer, and we treat patients in their 60s and 70s.

What Braces Cost for West Palm Beach Families

There’s no single price for braces, and an accurate fee needs an exam. At your consultation we work out your treatment plan first, then give you the actual fee for that plan.

One thing worth asking any orthodontist you’re comparing: what’s actually included. Ours covers your records and x-rays, the appliances you need through treatment, your retainers at the end, and follow-up appointments. We work with most PPO plans, including Delta Dental, Cigna, Aetna, MetLife, UnitedHealthcare, Guardian and Humana, and we’ll check your orthodontic benefit for you. We also offer payment plans, so you can spread the cost monthly rather than paying it all up front. Our cost of treatment page walks through example payment structures, and our payment and insurance page covers what we accept.

West Palm Beach Orthodontist FAQs

What is the average cost of braces in Florida?
Averages get quoted, but the complexity of the case drives the fee, and a number on its own tells you very little. What matters most is what the fee covers: ours includes diagnostic records, the appliances you need through treatment, retainers and follow-up appointments. Our own published examples run from $190 to $250 a month for comprehensive treatment with a $500 down payment, less if your dental insurance includes orthodontic benefits. We give you one all-inclusive fee for your full plan at your free consultation, once we’ve seen your case.
Can I just go to an orthodontist without being referred?
Yes. You don’t need a referral from a dentist to see an orthodontist, though some HMO dental plans need one before they’ll pay. Many people book directly, often for a free consultation or a second opinion. If you already have a dentist, we’re happy to work alongside them during your treatment.
Will insurance cover braces?
It depends on your plan. If it includes an orthodontic benefit, that’s often a lifetime amount rather than a yearly one, and it’s more common for children than adults. We work with most PPO plans, including Delta Dental, Cigna, Aetna, MetLife, UnitedHealthcare, Guardian and Humana, and we’ll check your specific orthodontic benefit for you at the start.
Can you pay $100 a month for braces?
Sometimes, depending on the case and your insurance. Our published example for limited treatment with $1,500 of orthodontic benefits runs $20 to $150 a month with a $500 down payment, and the other examples run higher. A payment plan spreads your all-inclusive fee across the months of treatment, and we’ll lay out your exact numbers at your first visit.
What disqualifies you from braces?
Very little disqualifies you permanently. Active gum disease or untreated decay needs to be treated by your dentist first, since teeth should only be moved in a healthy mouth, and some habits or health conditions shape which appliance we’d recommend. Whether treatment suits you right now is exactly what the free consultation is for.

This page is general information about orthodontic treatment, not medical or dental advice, and reading it doesn’t create a doctor-patient relationship. Results vary from patient to patient, and whether any treatment suits you can only be decided after an in-person examination. Any figures shown are general examples rather than a quote. Please speak with Dr. Petrover or another qualified orthodontist about your own care.

THE PATIENT AND ANY OTHER PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYMENT HAS A RIGHT TO REFUSE TO PAY, CANCEL PAYMENT, OR BE REIMBURSED FOR PAYMENT FOR ANY OTHER SERVICE, EXAMINATION, OR TREATMENT THAT IS PERFORMED AS A RESULT OF AND WITHIN 72 HOURS OF RESPONDING TO THE ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE FREE, DISCOUNTED FEE, OR REDUCED FEE SERVICE, EXAMINATION, OR TREATMENT.
