Who plans and carries out your treatment
Orthodontics is Dr. Jonathan Petrover’s specialty, and it’s been that way for more than 20 years. He belongs to the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the South Florida Academy of Orthodontists and the Florida Association of Orthodontists. He also takes 12 to 18 continuing education courses a year, because the brackets and the scanners keep changing. He treats every patient personally, with one-on-one care.
The American Association of Orthodontists explains that dental specialists complete four years of dental school and then study their specialty full-time for two or more years in an accredited program. That’s the training behind every adult plan here.

What Adult Treatment Looks Like at Our State Road 7 Office
One address, four days a week
At this office, everything from records and adjustments to repairs and retainer checks happens in Suite 600 at 2465 S State Road 7. If something breaks, call us and we’ll see you the same day whenever possible.
We’re open 8am to 5pm, Monday through Thursday, and we’ll look for a time that fits around your working day.
If you’d rather treatment didn’t announce itself at work, ceramic brackets and clear In-Ovation self-ligating braces are both fitted here, and so is Invisalign. You can pay at the desk by card or contactless.

From First Consultation to Finished Bite

That first appointment is the free consultation. Dr. Petrover examines your teeth and your bite, we take digital x-rays, and he goes through what he finds with you.
Records are taken with a digital scanner rather than a putty tray. The scan takes a few minutes, and your teeth appear on the screen as it goes. For an adult the x-rays carry extra weight, because any crown or implant already in place is part of what the plan gets built around.
Then you’ll talk it through. Four answers come out of that conversation: what Dr. Petrover sees in your records, which appliances would work on your bite, roughly how long it would take, and what your own fee would be. If something needs taking care of with your dentist first, he’ll say so.
On timing: compared with a child’s, an adult timeline can run longer, because adult teeth sit more firmly in the jaw and take more time and pressure to move, though healthy adult teeth can still be moved.
Braces or clear aligners: what adults here choose
Adults here can choose from four appliances.

Who Adult Treatment Suits, and What It Costs in Wellington
For some adults, the braces aren’t what causes the hesitation. It’s the worry of having left it too late, and not knowing what the number will be.
Are you a candidate?
The deciding factor is whether your teeth and the bone holding them are healthy. Age isn’t it.
Healthy teeth can be moved at any age. For an adult, treatment can need more planning. The jaw has stopped growing, and existing dental work needs planning around: an implant, for example, can’t be moved.
The AAO reports that one in three orthodontic patients is now over 18, and the number of adults seeing an orthodontist is at an all-time high. If you feel late to this, you’re in a very large crowd.
An unhealthy mouth does change the order of things. Active gum disease or untreated decay gets treated by your dentist before teeth start moving, and the AAO notes that in many cases treatment can’t begin until conditions like cavities are dealt with. The exam is what finds it, and we’ll tell you what needs doing and who should do it.
What adult treatment costs here
A price on its own tells you very little, because braces fees vary widely by case and by region. What matters is what the number covers. Here it covers your diagnostic records, the appliances you need through treatment, your retainers at the end and your follow-up appointments.
You get one fee for your full plan at your consultation.
Treatment can be paid monthly after a down payment. Insurance benefits can bring the figure down. We’ll verify your orthodontic benefit before you begin and file every claim on your behalf, and we work with most PPO plans, including Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Assurant, Guardian, MetLife, Humana, Delta Dental and Solstice.
