Petrover Orthodontics treats teens and kids with braces and Invisalign Teen at our Wellington office on South State Road 7. Dr. Jonathan Petrover is an orthodontic specialist, and your child’s first consultation is free.

Maybe your teen’s dentist brought up braces at the last cleaning. Maybe your younger child’s new front teeth are coming in crooked, and you’re not sure whether to wait or act. Either way, the next step is small and free. You’ll bring your child to our office at 2465 S State Road 7, Suite 600. Dr. Petrover takes a look, and you’ll leave knowing whether anything needs doing now, which option fits and what it would cost. No pressure, no surprises. We’re open Monday to Thursday, 8am to 5pm. We serve Wellington and families across Palm Beach County.
You want an orthodontic specialist. Here’s who you’ll meet at the consultation.

For more than 20 years, Dr. Jonathan Petrover has worked as a specialist in orthodontics, and he’s been practicing in South Florida since his family moved here in 1996. He’s a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, the South Florida Academy of Orthodontists and the Florida Association of Orthodontists. He attends 12 to 18 continuing-education courses a year. As he puts it, “We often see many members of the same family, and we get to know their extended families over many years…” More on Dr. Petrover’s background.
The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) explains that a dental specialist completes four years of dental school and then studies the specialty full-time for two or more years in an accredited program. For orthodontists, that training centers on how teeth and jawbones move and on growth and development. That matters for a child whose teeth are still coming in.
You’ll know the full fee before treatment starts, you’re part of the conversation from the first visit, and you’ll know who to call if something breaks.
No hidden fees and no add-ons:
Grab a cold or hot drink and relax with Wi-Fi or TV in the reception room. We encourage parents to join the conversation. Look at the walls, too: Dr. Petrover’s wife, Jill, is an artist, and she painted all of the artwork for our Wellington office. For impressions, we use an iTero scanner instead of putty.

Call the office first (we’re open Monday to Thursday), and we’ll help the same day whenever possible. Lost or damaged aligner? Call before switching trays. For facial trauma, swelling, uncontrolled bleeding or severe pain, go to the nearest emergency room or urgent care first, then call us. More on a broken bracket or a lost aligner.
Here’s how the free first visit goes.
The consultation is free, a $249 value. It includes a full orthodontic exam, any needed digital x-rays and a one-on-one consult with Dr. Jonathan Petrover. Bring your questions, and your teen’s!
The next step is small and free.
Dr. Petrover offers kids and teens these options.
| Option | What it is | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|
| Metal braces | Brackets joined by a wire that gently puts pressure on the teeth to move them | Available with or without colors. Braces usually take about 18 to 24 months, though this will vary depending on your child’s case. |
| Clear ceramic braces | The same brackets-and-wire approach, with clear brackets | Also available with or without colors. |
| In-Ovation self-ligating braces | Self-ligating brackets, in metal (In-Ovation R) or clear (In-Ovation C) | Ask about them at the consultation. |
| Invisalign Teen | Clear, removable aligners designed for teens | Aligners that compensate for the growth of new teeth and molars. |
For how braces and Invisalign Teen work, and how to choose, see our guide to orthodontics for kids and teens.
The AAO recommends that children have their first check-up with an orthodontist by age 7.
We follow that, but we don’t routinely start treatment early: in our experience, most children won’t gain anything from braces and orthodontic treatment before second grade. So an early visit may simply end with “let’s wait.”
Older child or teen who’s never been seen? It’s never too late to bring them in.
You don’t need to know whether your child needs braces before you call. That’s our job!
Signs that a child may need orthodontic care include baby teeth lost early or late and a jaw that shifts or clicks. The full list is in our guide for kids and teens, linked below. Noticing a sign doesn’t mean your child needs braces, though. The free consultation tells you whether anything needs doing now.
Your child’s fee follows the case, so there’s no single number to quote here. The cost of braces varies with the type, complexity and duration of treatment. You’ll leave the free consultation with one clear, all-inclusive price, set once Dr. Petrover and our treatment coordinator have your child’s plan. From there, in-house financing can spread that fee into low, predictable monthly payments, and auto-pay is available.
Everything in the fee list above sits inside that price, and sibling discounts and pay-in-full savings come off it. Want to see numbers? Here are the monthly payment examples we publish. They’re a rough ballpark, and your child’s own fee is set at the consultation.
We verify your child’s orthodontic benefits before treatment starts, file all claims on your behalf and follow up on them. We work with most PPO plans, including Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Assurant, Guardian, MetLife, Humana, Delta Dental and Solstice. We’re HSA and FSA friendly too, so you can use pre-tax dollars for braces or Invisalign. Weighing braces against aligners? Dental plans with orthodontic coverage usually cover braces and clear aligners equally, though each plan is different. See all our insurance and payment options.
